Meet the Artist
I am a self taught painter with a BS in Sociology, currently based in Oregon. I have been painting for about ten years, but have been drawing and creating my entire life. Painting is my life passion, my work holds themes relating to my other passions in life such as intersectional feminism, anti-capitalism, story-telling and more recently horses.
I make art for the eccentric, colorful, critical thinkers who question just about everything, while maintaining a love and vision for all the beauty in the world. I aim to have those themes shine through all my work.
I look forward to my future as and artist and plan to continue telling my story while developing further through collaborations, gallery shows and commissions.
WHY EXISTENTIALIST PINK?
The name Existentialist pink is a play on the naming of colors in various fields such as paints and make up, it is a combination of my love for art, design and womanhood (although womanhood of course is not tied to make up). Existentialism is the idea that "nothing matters" I see it as a way not to take the little things in life too seriously and to love the natural things in life rather than worrying about silly things. That being said as an artist my voice is important, and I want to make it abundantly clear that my message with this branding does not mean that I actually believe that nothing matters. I believe very deeply that art is a form of resistance and matters enormously at this time. I am a strong supporter of intersectional feminism and global women's rights, the LGBTQIA community, land back movements and more. More than ever these things absolutely do matter, I seek to make art that encourages forward moving society while sparking joy and hope through color and symbolism.
