This painting came to me during a time of listening to a lot of folk music, being deeply lonely and having an overwhelming desire to escape into the desert. Then, throw a pity party for myself. Loneliness had taken over my mind and I tried to cover it up with being online far too much. I realized hanging up the phone, hanging up the self pity and getting back out into the world, that I find so beautiful would be the only cure. That, and painting this. "Hang it up Cowgirl" is a dreamscape I created to escape myself, I hope you feel lost in its beauty and frustration the way I do.
